Logistical value proposition.

Supply security and consistency in product quality are of prime importance to customers. Our major shareholder, Saudi Aramco, provides Luberef with a consistent, local source of Arab Light Crude Oil, which is used for 100 % of our production. Unlike other major base oil producers, Luberef is not exposed to the risks from geopolitical uncertainty in its supply of crude oil. Logistical efficiency is critical for effective inventory management in the lubricants industry. Luberef is centrally located on the major East-West Red Sea shipping route and possesses storage facilities within the UAE, thereby providing convenient access and shorter lead times for both East and West of the Suez. Reliability of Supply enables customers to effectively plan and streamline their supply chains. Luberef constantly measures plant production availability at its Jeddah and Yanbu refineries and strives for continuous improvement.

Luberef has high levels of mechanical availability and uptime at both refineries, delivered by high quality preventive maintenance and well-trained professional engineers. Luberef Yanbu Refinery achieved Top Quartile ranking in Operational Availability in the 2012 Solomon study. Through its Yanbu expansion, Luberef is able to provide a diverse portfolio of branded and tiered base oil products that meet the majority of formulation needs. A family of Group-II base oils, speciality low viscosity oils, Extracts, Sulphur, and Drilling Fluid will be added to the exisiting portfolio of Group-I base oils. Luberef Group-II base oils can be used to formulate the majority of automotive and industrial lubricating oils, ranging from 5w30 to 20w50 for passenger car motor oils and 10w40/15w40 for heavy duty diesel engine oils, as well as driveline oils, industrial hydraulic and turbine oils. From a single, secure source of crude oil, Luberef provides it's customers with a logistically convenient and reliable supply of a tiered and branded portfolio of consistent quality base oils. Consistency in the quality of base oils is key to helping lubricant blenders maintain their Plant operating parameters and improve operational efficiency. Luberef delivers a consistent quality of base oils across key parameters, such as viscosity, viscosity index, flash point, pour point and sulphur content.
