Designed to Impact Students College and Career Opportunities for Life Success. Provides Career-themed Curriculum at Each Grade Level. The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is a leader in the movement to prepare young people for college and career SUCCESS. For over 30 years, NAF has refined a proven educational model which includes industry-focused curricula, work-based learning experiences, and business partner expertise from five themes: Finance, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Employees of more than 2,500 companies volunteer in classrooms, act as mentors, engage NAF students in paid internships and serve on local advisory boards. Career academies focus on preparing students for post-secondary education while providing them with the skills and experience necessary to attain entry-level jobs. Students in career academies typically take both career-themed and academic classes together. These courses are linked to academic and industry standards and encourage high achievement. Recognized as a “Distinguished” Academy by the National Academy Foundation and “Model” Academy by the National Career Academy Coalition,The Academy of Information Technology bridges the gap between the classroom and the workplace. Students receive a comprehensive curriculum in the field of information technology and computers and participate in enriched hands-on activities that expand and reinforce classroom instruction. Students interact with business leaders through classroom presentations, job shadowing, mentor-ships, internships and on-the-job training (OJT). Dual Enrollment courses are also available to qualified students.
