Finance Manager - Logistics. Job Title: Finance Manager - Logistics Location: Central London, Marylebone. ROLE OBJECTIVE. A high profile role within the Finance team that supports the group’s Supply Chain, which handles more than 150 million items per year and has an annual net spend of circa £55m. The scope includes outsourced warehousing operations in the UK and overseas, Group Customer Care, Supplier Management and Loss Prevention. Tasks include production of monthly management accounts pack & commentary, cost control, commercial analysis and the management of a Finance Analyst. This role will offer the chance to gain an understanding of the group through its ‘backbone’ whilst being challenged constantly to think commercially and offer expert advice and support to a successful and fast-paced department of the company. There is day to day contact with many areas of the group and with external companies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. Ownership of the monthly management accounts including comprehensive understanding and analysis of cost drivers and variance analysis Develop and mature stakeholder relationships across the Logistics and Finance functions Ownership of the monthly Cost Review Pack including responsibility for evolving its content Preparation of forecasts and budgets for review by all interested stakeholders Act as a point of contact for the department’s senior managers; assist them to understand the department’s financial performance and carry out analysis on their behalf, providing and implementing recommendations where appropriate. Provide support to the Senior Finance Manager and deputise in their absence Establish a questioning relationship with the group’s 3rd party Logistics provider to ensure that value for money is being delivered Liaise with the Accounting Centre to make sure accounts are accurate and all processes are robust and best practice Develop relationships with the brand teams to share knowledge around cost drivers and including validation of forecasts Line manager to 1 Finance Analyst. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE. Currently working in a Finance Management role Qualified or passed finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CA) Experience of a retail logistics environment, including experience with third party Logistics provider Demonstrable understanding of Logistics KPIs Significant experience using JDE (JD Edwards Financial System) Previous experience with Manhattan outputs Previous experience presenting and managing requests from Directors, including Supply Chain Directors Management Accounts, reporting and forecast experience Audit and investigation background, with the ability implement these processes in a commercial environment Demonstrable active involvement in process improvements. Ability to complete deep dive analysis into revenue and cost streams Ability to build revenue and costing models Ability to think commercially and analytically to then offer advice on a broad range of matters Excellent Excel skills including VBA report writing abilities Works well under pressure with the ability to recognise and adapt with changing priorities Proactive/inquisitive way of working Excellent attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong team player Excellent time management skills Professional and confident manner.
