This week, Nathan Fielder took on the challenge of transforming one of the most horrible sounds on Earth into a musical instrument — smoke detectors. Nathan has been killing us with laughs these past couple of weeks with “The Anecdote” and “Andy vs. Uber.” But in the latest episode, he has us singing along! Nathan for You takes a step back in LOLs this week with “Shipping Logistics Company,” and replaces it with brilliance and the gift of music. The company Byrnes Logistics, like the rest of us, isn’t a fan of taxes or shipping costs. And as we learned tonight, shipping smoke detectors is more costly than most other items, particularly when shipped overseas. Byrnes Logistics would be saving a lot of money for themselves and their clients if the import taxes, known as tariffs, weren’t so high. But with items like smoke detectors, there isn’t much one can do about it. Or is there? The Plan: Musical instruments are shipped tax-free to most countries. With that in mind, Nathan decides to rebrand smoke detectors as instruments.
