"Rapidly Growing company with room for advancement" I have been working at Select Express full-time (More than a year) This company is growing rapidly and promotes smart people who work hard. Great learning environment. People who put in the extra mile and are career oriented will like working here. The fast pace hectic atmosphere may not be for everyone. Company is 24/7 and changes on a dime so you feel like you're on call a lot. Cronyism in senior management. Advice to Management. Some key senior management needs to change. Many smart people leave this company because of poor management and it effects the bottom line. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on WhatsApp Share via Email Copy Link Link Copied! Lots of overtime available. Working late shift and not many food choices in the area. Advice to Management. Continue upgrading Mobile App for drivers. Has improved greatly but could always be better if we keep getting driver feedback. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on WhatsApp Share via Email Copy Link Link Copied! "Operations Manager" I worked at Select Express full-time (More than a year) They have plenty of work and if you are intelligent, hard working and can multi task you can have a very long career there. Customers can be very demanding and I think they could invest more in a training program. Advice to Management. Invest in training. lot's to learn as Select Express customizes services for their clients. They should open up more offices around the country where cost of living is less expensive. I worked at Select Express full-time (Less than a year) flexible schedule is the only plus. Low compensation. Nearly 24/7 availability needed, benefits very expensive, poor management, consistently encouraged to lie and lied to. "Terrible Company" I worked at Select Express (More than 3 years) Overtime available, paid on time. Stressful environment, terrible , uncaring , disrespectful management; dirty working conditions; customer service reps are hired for a particular 8 hour shift but after training you're given a weekly schedule with different hours every day; frequent employee turnover. Advice to Management. Get rid of the recording that customers listen to while on hold. It's all lies and customers abuse the reps when the service does not live up to the hype. "Good for learning" I have been working at Select Express full-time (Less than a year) Good place to learn Schedule flexibility. Low salary, poor training, noisy place. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on WhatsApp Share via Email Copy Link Link Copied! Select Express Response. "Very Poorly Run Company" Flexibility of schedule is probably the only positive aspect of working for them. You ar a subcontractor, so you can schedule jobs to suit you, as long as it also fits the customers’ requirements. This company expects a lot out of their contractors, but does not take care of them at all. Their basic rates are horrible, making it difficult to make a profit while maintaining your own work vehicle, tools, etc. They do not recognize, nor consider, the true costs a contractor has maintaining a vehicle - gas, insurance, tires, maintenance and repairs, providing your own tools, etc. In addition, they ultimately try to pass any expense that they can down to the contractor, so that they are not responsible for anything. If you do negotiate higher rates in order to try to make a living and make these jobs worth your time, then it is a constant struggle to get paid correctly. It has taken me several weeks to get paid for some jobs performed from them. In addition, their dispatch operation is terrible. I don’t know how many irate customers I had to deal with because of their horrible customer service. Advice to Management. A serious overhaul of this company is needed. They need to bring someone in from the outside to bring about some positive changes and restructuring , because the management in place clearly does not know how to take care of their contractors nor their customers.
