Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Fanshawe College. What will I learn? Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate (completed in two semesters) designed for university and college graduates seeking a career in the supply chain sector. The curriculum will focus on applied knowledge in the field of supply chain management within a global economy, encompassing the planning and management of all activities involved in procurement and all logistics management activities. Graduates of the program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be eligible to pursue a number of credentials within the supply chain management field. Learning Outcomes. The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to. 1. apply knowledge of the functional components within logistics to the interrelationships in the integrated supply chain. 2. employ a working knowledge of best practices in supply chain management. 3. apply the basics of purchasing and supplier management to current best practices. 4. apply knowledge of forecasting and inventory management theories and methodologies. 5. use logistics technology tools and resources, in order to comply with the requirements of logistics/supply chain management. 6. utilize information technology systems proficiently to support logistics management decisions. 7. evaluate and select warehousing and transportation options and recommend appropriate solutions for business requirements. 8. apply the basics of financial management including cost and managerial accounting. 9. participate effectively in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects. 10. conduct business in compliance with relevant national and international law, legislation, regulations, safety requirements, and professional standards. 11. conduct business in the international marketplace. 12. apply understanding of human resources management and organizational behaviour to establish and maintain effective teamwork relationships. 13. communicate effectively, orally and in writing, as required in a business culture. 14. apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills as required in logistics/supply chain management. 15. present oneself professionally to, and within, the marketplace. 16. apply knowledge of the relationship of customer service to logistics/supply chain management. 17. apply the basics of sales and marketing functions and their interrelationship within the supply chain. Career Opportunities. Graduates will be prepared for a variety of supply chain management roles, from entry-level to more senior positions, in service, manufacturing or government sectors, depending on prior education and work experience. Graduates will be in high demand in all functions of the supply chain, including procurement, logistics, planning, inventory management, transportation, customer service, customs coordination and related supply chain processes. A Two- or Three-Year College Diploma or a Degree OR Acceptable combination of related work experience and post-secondary education as judged by the College OR Five years of work experience in the supply chain management field as judged by the College to be equivalent. English Language Requirements. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English by one of the following methods: A Grade 12 College Stream or University Stream English credit from an Ontario Secondary School, or equivalent, depending on the program's Admission Requirements. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 570 for the paper-based test (PBT), or 88 for the Internet-based test (iBT), with test results within the last two years. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test with an overall score of 6.5 with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years. Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) test with an overall score of 70 with no score less than 60 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) with a minimum score of 59, with test results within the last two years. A Cambridge English Test (FCE/CAE/CPE) with an overall score on the Cambridge English Scale of 176 with no language skill less than 169, with test results within the last two years. An English Language Evaluation (ELE) at Fanshawe College with a minimum score of 75% in all sections of the test, with test results within the last two years. Fanshawe College ESL4/GAP5 students: Minimum grade of 80% in ESl4/GAP5 Level 9 or 75% in ESL4/GAP5 Level 10.
