Uber operations and logistics manager. Still have a question? Ask your own! ad by ProductPlan. Uber Driver Operations & Logistics Managers, aka "DOps", are responsible for growing and optimizing the supply-side of the marketplace. What that really means is highlighting the Uber opportunity for as many potential driver-partners as possible. They typically start their days by diving into marketplace data and driver-partner feedback. A DOps' goal is to identify trends through quantitative and qualitative data, and take action on them. There is a strong culture of rigorous experimentation, and you have peers in Uber’s 300-and-counting cities to share best practices with. DOps have designed processes in their cities that are now part of the global operational infrastructure of the company. At the core of it, the DOps role is about supporting driver-partner success, whether it be one-on-one answering a single partner's questions, or on a more macro level, applying those learnings to better inform how we can support all the driver-partners we work with. When people ask me what a DOps might do years from now, I usually remark that we’re just scratching the surface of a massive opportunity to change global transportation! But beyond that, DOps are world class COOs-in-training. It’s a role that incorporates the most challenging and rewarding elements of management consulting, product management, and pure hustle.
