To be admitted to one of the bachelor programmes you have to meet certain admission requirements. NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences recognises the following general international qualifications: International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or European Baccalaureate Diploma High School diploma from an accredited institution Four GCSE/GCE ‘O’ level passes (final grade A, B or C) and two ‘AS’ level passes. These six passes combined must all be in different subjects. Associate, Bachelor or Master Degree. Furthermore, some of our bachelor programmes demand additional entry requirements. Exceptions are made for students, who have had their preparatory education in a country where English is the official working and educational language. The language requirements for EEA students are the same as for Dutch students. If your diploma is listed here, the additional English language test is not required. NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences accepts three kinds of official language tests: IELTS, TOEFL and the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English. Academic IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 for each skill). TOEFL 550 (paper based), 213 (computer-based) and 80 (internet based). The International Logistics Management course focuses on marketing, production, logistics processes, internal organisation, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and purchasing. You will be trained as a specialist in these areas over the course of the four-year programme. Introduction to the industry. The first year is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in your chosen field. The course reviews all aspects of the logistics process, ranging from marketing, production and logistics to internal organisation and procurement. The varied curriculum provides you with the solid basis you need to make successful progress. Level Orientation Year: You learn to work independently, make decisions, assume responsibility, further develop your social skills, and build networks. Central themes Logistics design, organisation and logistic flows, process control and chain management. Subjects Logistics, marketing, warehouse, transport, operations management, stock, purchase, supply chain management. Research, written and oral communication, ICT, intercultural, sustainability, languages, advise. More in-depth study. In your second year, you will develop more focused and detailed knowledge, building on what you have learned so far. You will learn about issues related to HR management, procurement, business economics and international logistics, as well as the mechanics of the logistics process from raw materials to the end product. You will learn to apply your knowledge to solve complex issues and work on assignments in small groups. You learn to work in multidisciplinary teams and are able to not only reproduce knowledge but apply it as well. By the end of your second year, you will operate at the level of an assistant logistics specialist. Central themes The occurrence, the process, the chain, the network. Your internship will let you apply your knowledge and experience. It also gives you an idea of the various careers out there and helps you discover your best fit. You have the option to complete part of your course at one of our international campuses in Indonesia (Bali), Qatar, South Africa, or Thailand. We refer to this part of the programme as the 'Grand Tour'. You can choose one of these minors: Green Logistics 1 contains the courses: Green biobased in the Supply Chain, Green Logistics, Green Awareness and Business Models, Green Business Ethics and Law, Effective Project Management 1, Green Procurement Green Logistics 2 contains the courses: Effective Project management 2, Green Marketing & Strategy, Green Quality & Reporting, Green Economics. Final stage. In your fourth year, you will be taking on a practical final-year project, focusing on a specific problem. You will conduct this project at a business or organisation, which could end up becoming your future employer! During your final year, you work on a practical logistics assignment , which contains: Chain: Innovation and Change, Management, Leadership, Change Management, Improvement Methods, Supply Chain Innovation, Logistics Consultancy. In your third year, you will have the option to specialise by taking a number of minors: these are electives in which you focus on a specific subject or expand your knowledge by taking an additional subject. This allows you to truly take charge of your education by ‘customising’ your course. During your studies, you can participate in a research group that studies current issues in the field and in various academic and scientific areas. This research may be conducted for our own lectureship: Green Logistics. Research queries can include subjects like sustainable transport, sustainable chain management, the biobased economy and service logistics. International Opportunities. Problem Based Learning. Problem-based learning (PBL) is a style of active learning in which you learn by solving problems, as well as develop your practical abilities, including cultural skills, management skills, and meeting and presentation skills. To round out the course, you will take classes in a foreign modern language The language of instruction at the International Hospitality Management Programme for all classes, coursework and projects is English. Additionally, you will be allotted a second language from a shortlist you submit prior to your second year.The second foreign language can be French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Russian or Chinese. Design Based Education. All NHL Stenden programmes are working towards a system of Design Based Education (DBE), which puts co-creation with professionals in the field front and centre. You will be working in small teams of students, teachers, researchers, and industry professionals.
