Logistic Specialist (Supply) What is it? You are responsible for the computerised accounting, provisioning, issue, receipt, storage and tracking of all Army Supplies. In this critical role you will operate and manage accounts worth millions of pounds and become expert in sustaining the Army on operations, providing a range of items from combat supplies such as ammunition and rations to unmanned aerial vehicle spares. What’s so great about it? You need to be both organised and practical. You get to work at the heart of the supply chain, controlling the ebb and flow of large volumes of kit and equipment. You will be expected to record and maintain information on Logistic Information Systems, as well as have the potential to drive and/or operate a wide range of vehicles, including high-tech forklift trucks. It is essential to be able to work both on your own as well as in a team in arduous conditions and climates to get vital supplies to where they are needed, when they are needed. You will gain NVQs in Warehousing and Logistics which are fully transferable for future civilian careers. Good promotion prospects within a large employment stream. Opportunities for employment throughout the Army, you can be attached to any combat unit.
