Logistics Finance Analyst – Go To Market. Job description. MAIN JOB PURPOSE. Unilever spends a significant amount (E850m/annum) on logistics in Europe. The Deliver Team deals with approximately 700 vendors on inbound-, primary- and secondary transport. It is responsible for getting the best possible transport organised into50 factories, close to 100 warehouses and 30,000 customer locations, shipping close to 10 million pallets a year. Since the establishment of the Unilever Supply Chain Company (USCC) in 2006, Unilever has made significant strides in professionalising its Deliver function by restructuring the warehousing network, centralising transport tendering (Ultralogistics) and optimising truck lanes on a pan-European scale. Under the Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB) program, an ambitious programme has been defined to unlock E100m savings in the next 3 years which will largely come from Logistics (including inbound). It is vital this value is delivered to the bottom line timely and in full in order to re-invest in Unilever's brands and improve profitability. The MCO logistics finance analyst provides business partnering to the logistics team based in the MCOs. The role provides support to the go to market logistics finance manager (GTM LFM) on the key strategic initiatives by providing relevant information and ad hoc analysis. They play an instrumental role in supporting the FP&A team and in ensuring that central projects land successfully at local level. - Main finance point of contact for the MCO logistics team; explaining results & provide visibility on plans. - Creation of strategically important business cases (incl. benchmarking, truck fill, tender support) working with the GTM Finance Manager and Operational teams. - Business case creation, decision support and generating insight's for “local” initiatives in the area of RTM ensuring an appropriate level of connection with the local finance, Customer services, customer development and other relevant operational communities. - Manages all the relevant month activates not centralized in the central FP&A team (e.g. local bookings) - Provides the relevant input to the FP&A team (e.g. FCST, BP) and ensure MCO alignment to the central processes. - Manages budgeting and forecasting process both for Distribution Management Costs and SC Indirects. - Ensures that local controls are up to standard and that local legal requirements are met. - Business acumen – rapidly absorbs new information; applies new techniques, technology and procedures; - Analytical thinking, problem solving attitude – ability to combine multiple and different data point to draw conclusions; apply systematic approach to identify and eliminate root causes; identify problem solution; - Motivation and drive – ambitious to hit personal target and standard; act to remove basic blocks to progress without waiting for other to do so; - Team working – demonstrate commitment to the team in helping to achieve goals; proactively share best practice, ideas and insights with colleagues. - Studying towards or completed a Professional finance qualification equivalent to CA, CIMA, ACCA. - 1 to 3 years experience in operational and business partnering roles preferably in SC environment. - Ability to deal and manage connections with virtual team.
