[Merged] Ask Me About Working For Canada Post. Dec 6th, 2011 8:06 pm. #1065? Please tell me your not a LC because I thought my seniority # was high and I'm in the 140's. Just talked to my Staffing Officer and they said December actually is one of the SLOWEST months as this month the LC's tend to get "gifts" and other "gratuities" so they tend not to take vacation. This is my 5th week now for being benched with no work. Any ways back to watching old UFC fights. BTW anyone going down to watch the fights this weekend here in Toronto? Dec 6th, 2011 9:46 pm. Some supervisors may try and find you some older pieces of uniform that has been hanging around the station. 2nd station I was at, I was given two still in wrapper older type shirts and a toque. Next one they had some spare baseball caps, so I grabbed one. I kinda like not having to wear a uniform yet, as I have some quality outdoor stuff I much prefer wearing. Dec 7th, 2011 2:11 am. I passed my road test & physical-what a huge weight off my shoulders! No LC schools until the new year though. Just saw a posting go up for temp on-call LC's. A friend is mine is wanting to apply. How long after the posting closes does CP start contacting people for the GAT-anyone know? Dec 7th, 2011 3:28 am. Yep. My wife got her first call, day before she even completed training. She was out on the route and and fumbled the cell phone and missed the call. Tried to call back, couldn't get through. 15 minutes later, she was back at the depot and spoke to the supervisor and apologized but it was too late, the whole weeks assignment was gone. She managed to get 1 shift though, better than nothing. She was happy just to get that first one in the books, and will learn to use her new phone better! She was actually questioned really hard on her route about not having the uniform, customer thought she was stealing the mail, when the training LC approached and explained all was good. Kind of scared her a bit, but all turned ok. On the outdoor wear, we bought some really high quality Merrells, and base layer. She hasn't had a chance to use the base layer yet, coldest it's been was like -5. Dec 7th, 2011 6:27 am. So I wonder if being hired as a MSC is a good thing? Maybe I should get on the LC temp list after training. I don't want to invest time in a job if the position will be phased out. Dec 7th, 2011 1:16 pm. PT= postal transformation. I don't know if they'd allow you to jump to LC straight away after hiring you for MSC. Eventually you may have to. But your foots in the door, that's what's important for now. I'd definitely do nothing until after your probationary period (480 hrs). But best off asking a union rep, rather than taking the word of someone online.
