Multi Modal Logistic Hub at Vishakhapatnam. Consultancy Services for Carrying out Technical Feasibility Study / Costing of Proposed ‘Multi Modal Logistic Hub’ at Vishakhapatnam. M/S.Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd (BL), under the administrative control of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, in joint venture with Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) which also comes under the same ministry proposed to develop a Multi-modal logistics hub (MMLH) at Vizag. The main tasks carried out: Site Delineation and Survey of site. Understanding of the development dynamics around the site: Towards understanding of the development dynamics of the site and to compile information on the various ongoing and proposed developments, consultations and discussions with various agencies was carried out. Key stakeholders consultations Alternative alignments, both for road and rail were worked out, and assessed for the technical feasibility, both in terms of costs and practicality in terms of implementation. Base map generation Details layout for the MMLH were worked out including required utilities and services, electrical installations, fire fighting systems etc. A phase wise implementation plan was worked out Cost revalidation as per the Current SOR, recent rates in ongoing works of BL and market rates from suppliers for equipments. Costs to be incurred in additional land acquisition for road/rail connectivity etc were included in the cost estimates. Preparation of a feasibility report.
