NxtPort, Logistics Performance Index

Logistics performance index. International benchmark. The LPI is an interactive benchmarking tool created to help countries identify the challenges and opportunities they face in their performance on trade logistics and what they can do to improve their performance. The LPI 2018 allows for comparisons across 160 countries. Belgium is in 3 rd place on the Logistics Performance Index 2018. We can be proud on this result, but there is still room for improvement. The LPI is calculated based on several measures: Track&Tracing, Customs, Timeliness, International shipments, Infrastructure and Logistics competence. NxtPort effect on the LPI. With NxtPort we believe we can have an impact on some of the Logistics Performance Indicators. We can improve Track&Tracing by enabling and sharing data about container moves and vessel information. With our ‘Next Mode of Transport’ API, importing companies can notify a terminal about the pick-up time and transport mode before vessels are discharged. In return terminals can give ‘Green lights’ to inform the importer about the availability of the container for pick-up. By digitalising and sharing data we are confident there are big opportunities to improve logistics on different levels. Customs. NxtPort is working on several projects together with the Belgium Customs to help the community. By co-creating Customs applications and toolings, we will have an impact on a federal level. Our Import Consignment API is a perfect example of re-using data and reducing errors. In the near future we will release a solution for Arrival @ Exit (IE507) and Export Manifest (IE547). Next to these topics, we are at this moment co-creating a visibility tool for at the Border Inspection Post (GIP). As you can see, a bright future is coming. And we have only just begun.
