However, they are powerless regarding actually being able to perform HR practices according to the law. In a family owned company, they get away with skirting the employment laws and this company is notorious for doing so. Management is inexperienced and promoted because of how they look, or how negative and mean they will be to employees. They are kind to some and do extra for some, but not for all. They are very unprofessional. The main person running the sales department came from make-up counter sales and has minimal actual healthcare sales and no formal training or education. This is a multi-million dollar company. Sales commission is capped and the company is very controlling of how much an employee can make. Their training is substandard and too lengthy, but this is part of their strategy to keep people from making money too soon. Benefits used to be solid and plentiful. They just went to a self-insured plan status, that is no way near what it used to be. It is a "Gotcha" environment. People are very misleading and deceptive. Don't turn down another opportunity for this one. If you need a job, take it while you are waiting on something else to come through.
